Everything you need and More... |

London shopping : Covent Garden used to be the stomping grounds
for the tragically hip with big budgets looking for new
fashions, but in recent years more and more chains have begun
slowly creeping in. Granted, these chains are more likely to be
along the lines of Diesel or Miss Sixty than Marks and Spencer,
so the place hasn?t totally lost its hipsters image. Covent
Garden used to be the flower market for London. Now it's full of market stalls,
and small shops and is a lovely place to wander around for an
hour or three. Covent Garden is particularly popular due to
offering a lot of different shops all in one attractive
location; but there are other popular spots in London too, not
least of which is the West End.
London shopping, Fashion addicts beware: new
COS pieces appear in store nearly every day, so you'll always
have a reason to pop in for a quick look around. Fashion
lovers, meanwhile, should check out the roads around Carnaby
Street, perhaps popping into Liberty at its northern end,
arguably London’s prettiest department store. To the north, the
shops and boutiques along St Christopher’s Place lead nicely up
to the classy outlets on Marylebone High St.
But it's the food halls that are known around the world for
their cheeses, fresh seafood, charcuterie of exotic delicacies
and tea. Lots and lots of tea. Try the markets, But don't take
the stallholder's word for it that the fiddle he's holding is a
genuine Stradivarius left to him by his Italian great-uncle; it
might just as well have been "nicked" from an East End
pawnshop. But, there is often a feeling among shoppers that the
stores in London charge more than their counterparts in other
cities of the world. Bond Street has some of the most elegant
and expensive shops in London.
